Frequently asked
questions.

Everything you need to know about dynamic QR codes, tracking, pricing, and privacy.

What's the difference between a static and dynamic QR code?

A static QR code has its destination baked directly into the pattern — once printed, it can never be changed and there's no way to count scans. A dynamic QR code points to a short redirect URL that you control, so you can update where it sends people at any time and see exactly how many times it's been scanned.

Is DominiQR's QR code generator actually free?

Yes. The static QR code generator is free to use with no signup required — pick your colors, add a logo, and download a high-resolution image. Dynamic QR codes, which support editable destinations and scan tracking, are part of a paid plan (with a free trial to try before you commit).

Do I need an account to create a QR code?

No account is needed for a static QR code — generate and download one directly from the free generator. An account is only required for dynamic QR codes, since those need somewhere to store the destination link and scan history.

Can I change where a QR code points after it's already printed?

Only with a dynamic QR code. Because it redirects through a link you control, you can update the destination URL at any time without reprinting the code — useful for menus, packaging, or signage that changes over time. A static QR code's destination is permanent.

Can I track how many times my QR code has been scanned?

Yes, for dynamic QR codes. Every plan includes unlimited scans and advanced analytics, so you can see total scan counts and trends over time from your dashboard.

What analytics does DominiQR show me about scans?

Beyond raw scan counts, DominiQR shows the scanner's device type, operating system, and browser, plus approximate geographic location (country/city) based on a temporary IP lookup — helpful for understanding where and how people are engaging with your codes.

Do you store the personal data or IP addresses of people who scan my code?

No. We briefly process a scanner's IP address only to determine their approximate location, and it's discarded immediately after that lookup — we don't log, store, or share the actual IP address. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of what's collected.

Can I customize how my QR code looks?

Yes. Both static and dynamic QR codes support custom colors, gradients, and a logo, so the code can match your brand instead of the default black-and-white pattern.

How much does DominiQR cost?

Plans are flat-fee and transparent: Essential is €10/mo for 10 dynamic QR codes, Pro is €30/mo for 100, and Enterprise is €100/mo for 1,000. Every tier includes unlimited scans, advanced analytics, priority support, custom logo & colors, and custom domains.

Is there a free trial for dynamic QR codes?

Yes — you can try dynamic QR codes with a free trial before choosing a paid plan, directly from the free generator's upgrade prompt.

Can I use my own custom domain for QR code links?

Yes, custom domains are included on every paid plan, so your dynamic QR codes can redirect through a link on your own domain instead of a generic one.

What happens to my QR codes if I cancel my subscription?

Your account and its data remain in place while you decide next steps, and if you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy. Because dynamic QR codes depend on an active redirect service, keep an active plan if you need them to keep working.

Is DominiQR GDPR compliant, and how is my data handled?

Yes. DominiQR is operated by OblivionWare Ltd, which acts as the data controller under GDPR. We collect only the data needed to run the service, you have the standard GDPR rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and full details are in our Privacy Policy.
